Board of Governance

The Board of Governance is comprised of representatives of the Consortium of Universities, the Health Department of Western Australia, Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, Aboriginal community controlled health organisations, and two community representatives.

The following Roles and Responsibilities for the Board were adopted in 2006-07.

  1. The CUCRH Board of Governance will set the strategic direction of CUCRH by regularly reviewing and recommending changes to CUCRH’s Strategic Plan and annual operational plans; and increasing synergy between CUCRH’s activities and the programs of Commonwealth and state government, non-government organisations and academia by advising CUCRH management on new or emerging education and research opportunities.

  2. The CUCRH Board of Governance will provide oversight of CUCRH management by regularly reviewing income and expenditure reports, drawing attention to the match between strategic direction and resource allocation; assessing key CUCRH activities and processes against the highest standards of educational and research practice and advise on strategies for improvement; and providing advice and input into the appointment of the Director.

  3. The CUCRH Board of Governance will assist in achieving CUCRH’s mandate to improve rural and remote health through education, research and community service by facilitating partnerships with Aboriginal, rural and remote Western Australian communities and individuals; and promoting CUCRH to the wider university community and rural health sector by communicating
